Pleon Talan launches Corporate Communications & Public Affairs division in Ukraine

May 2007, Kiev. Pleon Talan announced the launch of a new Corporate Communications and Public Affairs division in the Ukraine. Andriy Hunder, a British ex-pat, with more than ten years of local market PR experience, has been appointed head of the new division.

Historically, Pleon’s focus in the Ukraine has specialised in Consumer PR services. As the dynamic Ukrainian communications market matures, communications services that reach broader stakeholders, address industry and legislative issues and support a corporation’s overall brand positioning are in greater demand. The services of the new division will include Public Affairs, Government Relations, Crisis Communications, Financial Communications and Corporate Positioning.

Born in London, England, Andriy completed his studies in Philosophy in Italy.  In 1996 he moved to the Ukraine where he launched and managed the Public Relations department at Ukrainian Mobile Communications - Ukraine’s largest mobile operator. In 2004 Andriy became Area External Affairs & Communications Manager for the Ukraine, Central Asia and Caucasus at pharmaceutical-giant, GlaxoSmithKline

Commenting on the new practice, Pleon Talan Director, Yelena Labova explained that a heightened local demand on Corporate PR and Public Affairs services is closely connected with the corporate world’s embrace of social responsibility and transparency in business. “We’ve always worked under this principle, leveraging our local knowledge with the Pleon network expertise in these areas.  Formalizing this expertise into a local practice adapted to Ukrainian conditions led by a specialist like Andriy Hunder will be a great benefit for our clients.”

As the new Director of Pleon Talan Corporate PR & Public Affairs, Hunder agrees: “I watched Pleon Talan’s development from the moment of its foundation and can say that it’s one of the most professional PR agencies in Ukraine. I look forward to working with a great team to couple a more globalised point of view with the intricate challenges facing companies operating in the Ukraine today. ”
